FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: What do you specialise in?

A: We specialise primarily in 11+ preparation, helping students develop the skills and confidence needed for their exams. We also provide expert support across other key stages, including Primary, KS3, GCSE and A-Level, with tuition in subjects such as Maths, English and Science.

Q: How many hours of tuition per week do 11+ students (Year 4 and Year 5) receive?

A: Our 11+ students receive 4.5 hours of tuition per week: 3 hours covering Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and 1.5 hours dedicated to English.

Q: What are the 11+ mock exams and how do they work?

A: Our 11+ mock exams run every Sunday from January to July. Students sit the exams in person under realistic exam conditions, helping them prepare for the format, timing and environment of the real 11+ exam. Each session lasts 2.5 hours, including the exam, marking and an opportunity for students to go through any questions or doubts.

Q: How long are lessons for other subjects?

A: Most lessons for other subjects are one hour long, providing focused support tailored to each student's needs.

Q: Is there parking near the tuition centre?

A: Yes, there are a limited number of parking spaces available nearby, making it convenient for parents to drop off and pick up their children. However, there are residential areas nearby.

Q: How many students are in a class?

A: The minimum we tend to have 6, and the maximum is 14.

Q: Do we offer trial classes?

A: We do not offer individual trial classes, as we strongly believe one lesson is often not enough for our teachers to properly assess a child's strengths, areas for improvement and learning needs, and also not enough for the student to think whether they would be well suited for the class and type of content being learned. We believe students benefit most from a structured programme that allows our teachers to understand them properly, build confidence and provide consistent support over time.
